Latest IMRIS Surgical Theatre Available for New Markets

IMRIS, Deerfield Imaging receives OSHPD approval for Seismic zones

Minneapolis, Minn., January 12, 2017 – IMRIS, Deerfield Imaging, the global leader in intraoperative imaging, announced that the company has received the California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) Preapproval of Manufacturer’s Certification (OPM) for the IMRIS Surgical Theatre iMRI 1.5T A and IMRIS Surgical Theatre iMRI 3T S systems, allowing for installation of these systems in California.

The OPM Certification is vital in providing assurance to the Structural Engineer of Record for hospitals in seismic zones that the latest IMRIS systems meet the seismic design requirements prescribed by the International Code Council’s document ICC-ES AC156.

This latest imaging technology, based on the Siemens Aera 1.5T and Skyra 3.0T MRI scanners, enables IMRIS, Deerfield Imaging and its customers the ability to deliver high image quality, fast 3D image acquisition, and improved ease-of-use and workflow during surgical procedures using intraoperative MRI (iMRI).

“Achieving this OPM Certification is an important step in providing the latest imaging technology to our customers in seismic regions and demonstrates our commitment to innovative engineering,” said IMRIS, Deerfield Imaging’s President and CEO Andrew Flanagan. “We bring the latest and unequaled imaging technology into the operating room where it can make the most difference – during the surgery.”
